Mr.Govada Venkateswara Rao

As in the part of the project we are focusing on the birth registration and we are motivating the community that every child should have to be registered of their birth in the concerned panchayat/Municipality and it is their Right also. In the earlier it was not recognised by the community and in the slowly they have recognised the importance of the birth registration of their children. As lack of awareness among the community on this process they were unable to obtain their children birth registration certificates with in one year and if it is exceeds one year they have to pay the fee for the certificate.  To overcome this problem we have negotiated with the Municipal health officer and panchayat executive secretaries and also submitted the letters on behalf of KISES for fee exemption (letters acknowledgments copies are with us for means of verification) and they have replied positively and given the fee exemption. After this attempt the people come forward for taking the certificates.

Mr. Govada Venkateswara Rao who has completed 10th class and well versed with reading and writing in English also and he come forward to take the responsibility to enable the entire community people to get their children birth registration certificates in a slow process. In the model a few certificates were get it laminated and displaying in the village meetings and encouraging the parents to get their children certificates expeditiously.
Reshama
KISES is working in 6 villages of Nagayalanka Mandal.  This case study is belongs to Krishnapuram village one of our operational villages.  In our target group of pregnant, lactating and 0-2 years children we are also focusing on the home visits.  It indicates that they have recognised the importance of their children growth. We have identified one baby namely Reshma D/o Suresh and Kumari aged about 11 months and weight was only 6.400 K.gs against 7.800 of normal grade weight and we did the counsel to give supplementary nutrition as she has very less milk through breast feeding and doctor prescribed to give milk (alternate milk of breast feeding)  and when we discussed the same she expressed her economic inability to purchase the milk too.  Mrs. Bhagya lakshmi explained in the meeting that she has been benefited from the live stock given by KISES and hence she wants to serve to another family and that is the reason to give milk to that family which is encouraging to remaining members also.
Mrs. Lakshmi Kantham

Mrs. Lakshmi kantham who is a community person approached to municipal office for getting the certificates as the people are demanding for paying the fees once again though she paid already.  As per that she gone to municipal office and made her attempt and could not get any positive result to her and she called to the office and then the Programme Manager asked her to stay at the municipal office.

As per that he moved to municipal office and at that time the said Lakshmi Kantham was at the municipal office only and waiting there and then he approached to concerned clerk and verified the records and found that the names were not entered in the records.  Then the concerned clerk verified all the records and  told that it might be returned due to not mentioning of the clear details and then the Manager asked to verify the returned  applications for checking the mistakes done by the applicant and then un willingly the clerk bring the returned applications and Manager took them and verified one by one and found it 2 applications and it was found that the hospital name was mentioned wrong as it was govt. hospital instead of baby care center and due to that it was not traced out then he (Manager, KISES) rectified the thing and submitted once again and avoid the paying of the fees two times.  It was very great success and based on this as model by explaining the situation in remaining villages also increase the birth registration certificates.
