Our Approach
KISES works with a simple belief: lasting change happens when communities are supported to build knowledge, confidence, access, and local systems that continue working even after a project period. Our approach is rooted in dignity, inclusion, and practical problem-solving, especially for families facing poverty, exclusion, and repeated vulnerability due to disasters and access barriers.
We work across education, women empowerment, health, sanitation, livelihoods, and community awareness, and we implement each intervention with strong community participation and local ownership.
Community First, Needs Based Planning
KISES begins by listening. We spend time in villages, slum colonies, and vulnerable settlements to understand what families are struggling with and what solutions are realistic in their local context. Our planning is based on community consultations, observation of daily barriers, and local priorities identified by women leaders, parents, and frontline workers.
We focus on vulnerable groups such as women, children, Dalit and tribal communities, persons with disabilities, migrants, and unorganised sector workers, ensuring inclusion is built into program design.
Building Community Institutions and Local Leadership
KISES strengthens people’s ability to solve problems together. We form and strengthen women’s Self Help Groups and support bank linkages so women gain financial confidence and livelihood stability.
For village level sustainability, we strengthen Village Development Committees that meet regularly, monitor village needs, and support ongoing follow up for sanitation, school development, and community well being.
We also work with child and school based systems such as Child Support Groups and School Hygiene Committees so children become confident change makers for hygiene, learning, and positive behaviour.
Integrated, Practical Interventions
Families experience problems together. A child dropping out of school is often linked to poverty, illness, debt, or lack of awareness. That is why KISES connects interventions across sectors:
- Education and child protection to keep children learning, especially in vulnerable communities
- Women empowerment and livelihoods through SHGs, micro finance, skills training, and enterprise support
- Health, nutrition, and sanitation through community health initiatives, camps, immunisation promotion, and toilet adoption
- Disaster response and rehabilitation to restore family stability after shocks and reduce long term vulnerability
- Community awareness on critical social issues like alcoholism, harmful practices, environmental cleanliness, and entitlements
Services Plus Behaviour Change
KISES combines direct services with awareness and behaviour change because infrastructure alone does not create lasting impact.
For example, sanitation projects are strengthened through hygiene education, child led advocacy, household follow up, and community monitoring systems.
Transparency, Learning, and Accountability
KISES believes credibility is built through consistent field presence, disciplined implementation, and transparent reporting.
We strengthen monitoring through community committees and school systems, and we continually improve documentation and learning so partners and donors receive clear, responsible updates.
Partner With KISES
KISES welcomes CSR partners, donors, and institutions who want field anchored, measurable impact across education, women livelihoods, health, sanitation, and child protection.
Support helps expand essential services, strengthen community institutions, and protect vulnerable children and families in high risk living conditions.
